Family Fun With God

It is funny to think that two years agoI had just began my YWAM journey going to Brazil with my family.  Now here we are in Africa doing it again.

What a great adventure we are on!

Our first day of ministry in Aura was really good. We were sent to a Sudanese refugee village to minister.   The whole family ministered: I was allowed to speak to about 20 woman about how large God's  heart is for the world. Angel was telling bible stories while Gabriel, who illustrated the stories drawing pictures in the sand.  Hannah and I went door to door in the village while Joe played soccer with the boys In the village.

One exciting testimony from the door to door ministry. A woman who could not stand or walk received prayer.  After receiving prayer she rose to her feet and walked. Praise the Lord.

The day ended and we are excited to returning next week.

Joshua Fest 2015 is a little less than a month away and my excitement has begun to boil! As I think of last year I am reminded of the amazing things that happened. I witnessed God unlock one girl's jaw, while another teenager’s leg grew out as she lifted her legs to show which leg was shorter. In another situation, God did not relent in His power to heal as my partner Savannah asked a group of teenagers, “Who here struggles with depression?” and 20 out of 30 boys and girls raised their hands. That day was a great day. We witnessed God deliver those teens from depression!

I wonder what miracles await us at Joshua Fest this year?  Mighty things happen when God's people pray. Would you pray? Don’t wait, and don't think others will do it; join the fight. Your personal prayer could be the breakthrough point for a young girl who cuts herself. Your prayer could be the power that finally breaks the spirit of death over a generation. That prayer you’re thinking of right now has the ability to empower these teenagers to champion change as leaders filled with God’s Spirit. Don’t wait, pray!
If you would like to partner with us in a tangible way, we need help with fuel and food (approx $50 & $50). You can donate either via Paypal michaelsweazy@gmail.com or by direct mail: 15850 Richardson Springs Rd, Chico, CA  95973.

Blessings be upon you all!

Jesus Goes to the Psychic Fair

Recently I spent the weekend working a booth in a psychic fair. For some I know that this might seem an odd thing to do; however, my reason is simple: The light shines brightest in the darkest places. I had the strongest sense that at this fair there would be souls looking for answers about life.  What follows is the testimony of one of these people.

Her name is Cricket, and she wondered up to our tent on the second day of the fair. We were actually still praying for the day when she approached our little gathering. We warmly greated her with a good morning, and asked if she would like a spiritual reading. To which she said yes, and sat down.

We took a moment and asked God for a glimpse of Cricket as He knew her. Immediately I saw a field of wild flowers. After a few moments I broke the silence and shared with her that I had seen a field of wild flowers. I went on to tell her how yesterday I had taken water bottles and drawn pictures and written words on each bottle before I gave it out. I explained that I had drawn wild flowers on one bottle but never found the person who matched the reading.

The very next moment my friend John who was working the booth handed me the bottle with that reading on it and I handed it to Cricket. With a look of astonishment on her face she reached down a picked up her backpack and opened the front pocket and pulled out a packet of wildflower seeds.

I went on to tell her that I had a sense that through life she was like a wildflower growing in places that others found unacceptable. I told Cricket that the Creator designed that wildness in her. I told her that the He wanted to teach her the truth about herself. I shared with her that I heard God saying that it was okay that she felt wild at heart. That He wanted to be the one to show her where and how to plant her wild flowers.

The others in the group shared their own impressions with Cricket and she was equally touched.

Church On The Street

Last Sunday our family had an opportunity to participate in a ministry called Church on the Street. Church on the Street is a ministry where many different churches in Chico get together and feed the homeless. Each church involved takes a different Sunday to prepare the meal which is served. This Sunday was our first time serving a meal as ywam. This was a great opportunity for my family to serve together. Not only did we prepare the food, but we had a time of ministry to the homeless while everyone was eating. Angel and I were proud of Hannah and Joey, who jumped right in and began  talking with the homeless. Most of all they listened with love and showed value for each person they ministered to.

Last Year's Adventure and 2015

Hello Friends,

Through this last year, Angel and I have had countless opportunity’s to minister to many men and women's hearts through counsel and prayer.  We have seen God move in big ways; and have had the honor to lead others to the very heart of papa God.  As we look forward we are filled with anticipation to encounter more souls who need a touch of the Lord's love and gentle compassion.

Our local ministries: Hamilton City, and Friday night evangelism, continues.  The Lord has given the team favor in Hamilton City. Within the Junior High School, Daniel and Marcella (two of my teammates) will be leading a afterschool program using dance as the focus for the kids.  The favor we received came in the form of the principal's approval of the program itself.  She has allowed the team to rent space at the school, and waved the cost of the room; so, it’s free!

Friday night evangelism is shifting.  I feel like I have heard the Lord ask us to make a great commitment for souls.  I am praying, and expecting, to find ways to begin evangelizing during the day time. I believe that the Lord may be asking us to visit businesses, to pray for each establishments favor in light of God's good will, and prove that the Kingdom benefits everyone and everything.  Please pray for these things.

In November I had the privilege of visiting China. The trip was amazing; I learned many things about the work going on there.  One item in particular excites me a lot: B.A.M. (business as missions) is the primary way that the Gospel is sown in a closed country like China.  The basic idea uses business as a means of evangelism, and/or discipleship, for believers and unbelievers alike.  As we view our base thought B.A.M., I am eager to see what God will unwrap here in YWAM Chico.

Last year, it was exciting to watch God supply for my family in lieu of pledged financial support.  It seemed like, every time I turned around we were given a box of food, or having tires bought for us.  Many things were supplied simply by God leading others to supports us in anonymous donations.  Simply amazing.  The situation reminds me of the account of the Israelites: as they wandered through the desert and finally, after forty years, arrive in Canaan.  During the time in the desert, the Jews were provided with manna which fell from heaven.  Once the Israelites crossed the Jordan river, and ate from the land, the manna stopped.  At this point God supplied a land that would yield what Israel needed.

Like the Jews, we all have "manna" times when God provides through miracles.  Then he moves us into Canaan, where he  supplies places, people, and things which provide what we need.  I believe this is happening to the Sweazy family now.  Last year our support goal was $1378.00 a month.  The Lord provided pledges in the amount of $602.00 a month.  I want to thank you for believing in the call on our life.  I wish I could list everything that God did last year through your support. The sick were healed, demons made to flee, and many lost children returned to the Father.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  God's fire fell on your sacrifice; He multiplied it many times over.  This year can only be greater still, as we all travel from glory to glory together. I hope you see your support for what it is: an agent of empowerment.  Our partnership is powerful; and, our Father is pleased to send us to the darkest places so our light will shine brightest.

2014 has been an amazing year for the Sweazy family.  Starting the year by joining Youth With a Mission,  and ending the year in China, marked a new chapter in our lives… A chapter characterized by possibility.  I want to invite you into our adventure.  Angel and I would to ask you to go before the Father and ask how you and your family could partner with us. Whether you pack your bags and join us, protect us with your prayer, or you partner us through monthly donations, we are all together in this journey!
